Farewell to two long-time residents

A going away party was held last Sunday for Doris Cleven and Marian Franzman, both of whom are bidding farewell to the town they have called home for decades.

Doris Cleven, who has lived in Grygla her entire life, will now be calling Warroad home. She moved into her apartment on November 15th and is looking forward to being near her family. 

Marian Franzman moved from Roseau to Grygla in 1954. She is calling this next chapter in her life “bittersweet.” She will be moving in with her granddaughter and family in the country by Red Lake Falls. She says she’ll be kept busy with her two little great-grandchildren who are 4 and 1.5 years old. A fun fact about Marian: she was the first-ever subscriber of the Grygla Eagle Newspaper when it began in 1973; she still subscribes today!
