Iron Chargers invited to state competition

“Imagine! Create! Succeed!” was the theme of the VEX Robotics Competition last weekend and our local Iron Chargers did just that!

Along with the new robotics club advisor, Nick Mickelson, the crew headed to Albany, MN, where they came home with a design award, and also an invite to the State Robotics competition. The 4149C team finished 3-4 and the 4149G team finished 2-5 during the qualifying round. The teams were selected by the Fisher Newbie Knights and Tigris ex Machina III (from St. Cloud) during the elimination round and made it to the quarterfinals. “Both teams overcame much adversity and gave a tremendous effort,” said Mickelson.

4149C team took home the Imagine! Create! Succeed! VRC Tournament - Turning Point 2018-19 Design Award, which gives them an automatic invite to the MN State Tournament in St. Cloud this coming February.
