It’s almost hard to believe that five years have passed since Gully celebrated its centennial. The Gully 100 Committee met recently and decided that they didn’t want to wait another hundred years to celebrate together again. It is in that spirit that the town of Gully will celebrate its 105th anniversary on July 18th with food, games, and live entertainment, including a special performance by Auntie Kreamsaugen herself.
As many of you know, Auntie Kreamsaugen regularly appears at Jasper’s Jubilee Theater, in Park Rapids, MN, where she has performed during the summer months for the past 11 years. What you may not know is that the woman behind Auntie Kreamsaugen is Darlene Rolle, who grew up in “a Scandinavian community in rural Minnesota” and now calls Detroit Lakes her home, where she lives with husband Dick Rolle. She and younger members of her family built and maintain the Jasper’s Theater, which features the music, magic and comedy of four generations of Darlene’s family and friends. She has performed at the Norsk Høstfest in Minot ND.
As a part of the fun filled 105th celebration, Auntie Kreamsaugen will perform at the Gully Town Hall on July 18th. Admission is free and all are welcome. Stay tuned for more information on the time of this and all of the other exciting events and activities planned for this day. Come and have some fun in Gully!
