Rodeo Days Coming to Gonvick July 13 and 14

The 28th Annual Gonvick Lions “Rodeo Days” are coming up on July 13 and 14. 

On Friday there will be a rodeo at 6:00 p.m. put on by Wojos Rodeo Company. You can buy advanced tickets for one or both nights at Northern Bait & Convenience, Northern State Bank, Kandi’s Kitchen in Gonvick, Y-92 C-Store, First State Bank in Clearbrook, Shorty’s Place in Gully and Reichert’s Saddlery in Leonard. Advanced tickets are cheaper than gate price with the adults being $10 and children being $6 for advanced per night and gate price being $12 per night for adults and $8 per night for children.

On Friday, July 13, there will also be a “Rodeo Days” Southern-Style Picnic held in the Gonvick Gym. They will be serving fried chicken and biscuits, potato salad, southern noodle salad, Texas caviar with hominy, watermelon, peanut fudge, ice cream cake, lemonade, coffee and tea from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There is a cost of $15 for ages 12 and up. Saturday, July 14, there will be a Rodeo Breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick, everyone is welcome. They will be serving eggs, sausage, muffins, fruit, orange juice, and coffee, there will also be a free will offering that will go to the “church roofing fund”.

There will be a parade at 2:00 p.m. Registration for the parade begins at 12:45 and goes until 1:45. You don’t need to register before hand just come and enter your unit.

There is a Fish Fry on Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. That will be held at the Gonvick Legion. Kandi’s Kitchen will be having specials throughout “Rodeo Days”. There will be another night of rodeo on Saturday as well starting at 6:00 p.m. You can get your advanced tickets or purchase them at the gate.
