RLCC Class of 2018 Graduation Ceremony Held May 25th

Red Lake County Central Graduation was held on Friday, May 25th at the High School in Oklee. The ceremony began at 5:30 p.m. Twenty-five seniors received their diplomas during the graduation ceremony.
Speakers were the top three students of the Class of 2018. They included Hannah Kolstoe, daughter of Matt and Lisa Kolstoe, Hannah spoke about how all good things come to an end but the future is bright. Katie Olson, daughter of Steve and Karen Olson, Katie ran us through some of her favorite class memories. Lastly, Matthew Vettleson, son of Alan and Chris Vettleson, Matthew thanked teachers and staff at RLCC as well as family and friends.
The Senior Choir members  sang “At the Beginning” by Stephen Flaherty. Their next song was “Wonderwall” by Oasis, sang by a group of the seniors accompanied by Nicholas Pahlen playing guitar. Next the whole senior class sang “You’re Gonna Miss This” by Trace Adkins. Lastly, “We’re Going to be Friends” by The White Stripes, was sang by Sydney Melby while she played the guitar. Peggy Miller played the Processional, “Pomp and Circumstance” by Edward Elgar, and the Recessional on the piano.
There was a class video that took us through the years of the 2018 class. From baby pictures to senior pictures, they had it all. Principal, Mr. Randall Pederson, and School Board Chairman, Mr. Matt Kolstoe ,presented the diplomas to the 25 graduating seniors. The Plummer American Legion Post #623 presented and retired the colors on Friday as well.
