Students of the Month
“Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.” ~Leonardo da Vinci
Name: Quincy Gustafson, Kindergarten
Parents: Cedrik and Vanessa Gustafson Siblings: Brody and Stella
Comments: “Quincy always comes to school with a positive attitude and an eagerness for learning. He is a good example to all as he follows directions quickly and is very respectful. I love hearing him share his deep knowledge of jets with us! His classmates voted for him to be our Student of the Month. They seem to appreciate his kindness and good manners as much as I do. One student remarked, “I like Quincy because he is kind to everyone.” Another said, “I like Quincy because he works hard and cleans up after playtime, even if he didn’t make the mess!” Congratulations, Quincy!”
Name: Kysen Larson, Grade 1
Parents: Jarica Hamnes and Jeff Larson
Comments: “Kysen is a very quiet thinker. When he chooses to share his thoughts they are very meaningful. He works diligently in reading and math. He gets right to work on all his assignments. His friends enjoy him because he is easy to get along with. He looks forward to small group activities where he can work with others. Congratulations Kysen! You have worked hard to earn this award.”
Name: Peyton Wittenberg, Grade 2
Parents: Vern and Kari Wittenberg
Comments: “Peyton comes to school every day prepared and ready to learn. She is courteous and shows good manners in the classroom. She always remembers to say please and thank you. Peyton is one of the first ones to offer help to others and does it with a smile on her face. She has a very caring heart. Thank you, Peyton, for being a great addition to our class! You deserve being chosen ‘Student of the Month’ for second grade!”
Name: Xylah Rivkind, grade 3
Parents: Alex Rivkind & Krystle Lewis Siblings: Patch
Comments: “Xylah has a quiet, friendly way about her that classmates appreciate. Her smile lights up the room every morning. What a way to start the day!! She works very hard at what she does in class and is a great example of determination for others. She is a strong reader and shows great expression in her oral reading. Our class was lucky to have gained this new classmate this year. Congratulations Xylah! Job well done!”
Name: Matthew Rankin, Grade 4
Parents: Nick and Amy Rankin Siblings: Savannah and Daniel
Comments: “Matthew is exciting to have in class! He comes to school everyday with a story to share about his adventures. He is always deeply intrigued with the classroom conservations, he is usually successful in getting us off topic, but life lessons are sometimes the most important lessons to share. He truly is a pleasure to have in class!”
Name: Dylan Dahlke, Grade 5
Parents: Jerry and Roxanne Dahlke Siblings: Shadow, Mysten, and Karli
Comments: “Everyday Dylan could earn the Student of the Month title. He is always hard working, respectful to staff and students, and very helpful. He has a good, easy-going attitude that helps to keep our classroom environment positive as well.”
Name: Abby Engen, Grade 6
Parents: BJ and Linda Engen Siblings: Ella, Mya
Comments: “Abby has been nominated by MANY of her peers to be “Student of the Month”, (but don’t just take my word for it): “Abby is always helpful to Mrs. B and her classmates.” “She is always on task and she never complains.” “She is very kind; not mean to others.” “She works hard and does stuff without being asked.” “Abby is always an optimist.” “She is always polite to her classmates.” “Abby E. is kind, helpful, and respectful to her friends.” “She plays the oboe and it sounds beautiful.” “She is very smart...and I mean VERY smart.” “She listens to the supervisors and never gets in trouble.” “She has a great attitude, is quiet, and organized.” “She is always in a good mood.” “She is sweet, kind, and she always picks up the garbage cans at the end of the day for the custodians.” (Well, Abby, it looks like your peers are not at a loss for words when describing you. Thanks for being you.)
