Local leaders attend Student Council Convention

On April 7-9, members from the Grygla Student Council and Minnesota Honor Society attended the State MASC/MAHS Convention, pictured above. The event was host by ACGC High School and was attended by Student Council and National Honor Society members from across Minnesota. For three days, the delegates from each school would arrive at Atwater Cosmos Grove City High School to follow a schedule made by the MASC/MAHS Executive board. During this event, a new 2018-2019 Executive board was chosen, empowering speakers were presented, and ideas were shared from every council.
The delegates also attended a formal banquet where awards to outstanding Student Council Members were given. Directly following the banquet was a dance to end the weekend on a fun note.
On the last morning of the State Convention, the next school to host the State Convention is revealed. The 2018-2019 State Convention is at Wayzata High School. Also on the final, day a new State Service project is revealed. This year’s State Service project is “Food for Kidz.” It is an organization that helps package and send nutritional food to countries and people in need. Grygla High School hosted its very own packing event on April 13th. Over 40 boxes of food was packed to send to people in need, pictured below.
Goodridge delegates also attended the State MASC/MAHS Convention. They were: Mercedes Coan, Libby Johnson, Kendra Jensen, Brandon Stanley and Madi Race.
