Senior Connection Offers More

Senior Connection Adult Day Services, located in Clear Waters Life Center-Gonvick, offers more than just respite care for caregivers on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Older adults are welcome to come for just a half day and participate in the activities that bring them the most benefit. For some that might be 10:00 AM to 12:00 when the group discusses current events with coffee and snacks, followed by exercise, and lunch. Others might want to come at 11:00 for group exercise, lunch, and art on Monday afternoon where you can learn pottery or mosaic/glass in our studios. Other afternoon activities revolve around the theme for the day like sharing memories of what you did on -25 degree days in January 1949. Still others might come for just the afternoon, 1:00 to 3:00 PM, on Wednesday or Friday and play games, relax, talk and laugh, drink coffee or tea and have a snack.

By far the greatest benefit of our programming is just getting together with others. It gets harder and harder to try new things as we get older.  Too often, we wait until we don’t have a choice and have to leave our homes. Senior Connection offers older adults an opportunity to remain at home longer because they are living healthier lives. The Leader-Record could be filled with articles proving the benefits of socialization, exercise, and good nutrition.

Transportation is available.  Costs do apply, but we invite you to join us for one day free to experience our program. Please call 218-487-5290, Ext. 1 to let us know that you will be joining us for lunch and for help with transportation, if needed. Cost information is also by calling the number above. Consider this for your New Year’s resolution:  I will attend Senior Connection at least one day in January 2018.
