River Watch Kiosk Project in Plummer

River Watch is an extracurricular activity where high school students study and sample rivers in the local area, as well as create projects that benefit the community. The Red Lake County Central High School’s group project this year is to build a kiosk in People’s Park in Plummer, MN. The kiosk will include brochures, maps, facts, and other information about the Clearwater River.
The kiosk will be located at the entrance to the park. The park includes a recreational area, plus a spot to launch canoes and kayaks as well.
The River Watch group chose this project because they wanted to inform people about the river and area around it. They were generously funded by the Plummer Lions.
This group includes Ms. Shelly Steva as the advisor from RLCC, and students Britain Arlt, Brandie DeHate, Erin Jones, Kaitlyn Morris, Sidney Olson, Garrett Qualley, Courtney Rude, and Tanisha Srnsky. Ashley Hitt, a representative of the Red Lake Watershed Board, works with the group and helped set up the presentation.
