Palubicki’s Family Market and Spirits in Fosston will be celebrating their Grand Opening starting this Wednesday, May 17.
The festivities start at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday with the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Expect a rush at the door -the first 50 customers will receive a free bag of groceries. Also Wednesday, they’ll be offering strawberry shortcake specials in the bakery, as well as pizza, BBQ, or Edwards Pies samples.
On Thursday, the first 50 customers will receive a free gallon of milk. There’ll be free samples of Friendly’s Ice Cream and Freschetta Pizza, Pepsi-Cola samples, and drawings for prizes. An engraving station will be available with free gifts. The big “draw” for Thursday will no doubt be the drawing for four tickets to the Poison concert scheduled for Saturday, May 27 at the Alerus Center.
On Friday, Rhombus Guys take over the taps in the Bistro 300 starting at 3:00 p.m. There will be microbrew samples and giveaways, and grill and cooler drawings from McKinnon Co. From 4:00-8:00 p.m., they’ll be hosting a Great North Pizza sampling. There will also be drawings for $10-$25 meat gift cards.
Saturday is the big finale, with the Cloverdale meat truck in the parking lot from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Drawings will be held for the Fit Bit Flex 2, Apple Watch, and Nabisco boxes, but you’ll want to stick around and see if your name is drawn for the biggies: a pair of Minnesota Twins tickets, or two pairs of tickets to the Minnesota Zoo.
If you haven’t been in to see the new store, it’s quite a spectacle. Between the supermarket, an in-house Caribou Coffee, dining at the Bistro 300, a new location for the Red Poppy floral and gift store, the Aisle 23 liquor shop, and the new Palubicki’s Pharmacy, you can spend the whole day there.
Founded in 1975, Leah Hemmingsen took over the family-run business in 2006. Since its beginning, the store has grown to include 130 employees.
