An invitation to you from our local fire department

Greetings from the Grygla Fire Department! This letter is your official invitation to attend one of the greatest events of 2017. Come on out and watch some of Grygla’s finest prepare a meal Chef Gordon Ramsay would be proud of. Be prepared to eat some of the best tasting beef and ham that can be found anywhere in the country. Like our gravy, we’re laying it on pretty thick! 

The annual Firemen’s Supper will be held Sunday, April 2, at the Grygla Community Center, from 4-7pm. Our menu will include roast beef and ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw and corn. We are charging $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids under 12. It’s “all you can eat”, so bring your healthy appetites. We will draw for door prizes at 7pm. 

During the past year, the fire department has responded to 46 calls. This included 9 wildland/grass fires, 4 structure fires, 3 fire/CO2 alarm/service calls, 3 weather alerts, 2 auto accidents, 1 search and rescue and 24 medical calls. There are two newer vehicles in our arsenal this past year. Last fall, we upgraded to a much newer ambulance. We also got a good deal on a Dodge Ram pickup to replace one of the old grass rigs. Keeping our vehicles modern and in excellent working order is so important to ensure a quick response time to emergency calls. 

This year looks to be a busy one at the fire department. Along with 911 calls and trainings, we will be putting together benches for the Grygla Centennial. There is still time to order a centennial bench, for those of you that haven’t yet. This year’s Fall Festival is August 25-27. The Firemen look forward to being a part of Grygla’s 100 year celebration! 

We would like to acknowledge the support of all the individuals, businesses, service clubs, and civic organizations. With your generous donations, we have been able to make improvements to our equipment, attend trainings, and maintain our Fire Hall. The Grygla Fire Department serves 6 townships in Marshall County, 8 townships in Beltrami County, and provides mutual aid (when requested) to the surrounding departments in Goodridge, Middle River and Roseau. 

So, come out to the Community Center on April 2nd, and let the firemen fill you up with one delicious supper. We thank you for your support.
