The Clearwater County Food Shelf completed its Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign on April 7, 2015. The March campaign is the largest annual food and fund drive in the state and the only time of the year contributions leverage additional dollars. This year the local Food Shelf collected $18,996.98 in cash donations and 3,326 pounds of food.
“The outpouring of support for our organization was heart-warming,” said Clearwater County Food Shelf President Becky Colebank. “We are so grateful for the way Clearwater County businesses, organizations, churches and individuals stepped up to the plate to help feed the hungry in Clearwater County. We always pray to use our resources wisely and are confident that we are being led in the right direction to put it to good use.”
Food Shelf Site Coordinator Suzann Moen added, “I especially want to commend our youth organizations that contributed. The Boy Scouts are always there for us. The Jack Pine Pals 4H Club members are also repeat contributors and I was epically impressed by the enthusiasm BHS Student Council Representatives Andrea Friborg and Nick Kaiser exhibited. They raised a considerable amount of money. The fact that we have activity and dedication from the youth of Clearwater County is awesome. What a great month. I’m so glad to be a part of it.”
