Clear Waters Life Center Hosts Friday Night Out

Clear Waters Life Center-Gonvick has been hosting a series of Friday Night Out dinners the first Friday Night of each month for the past 10 months.  As a faith-based community of people providing a place to impart hope and enrich the lives of individuals and families, CWLC staff and volunteers are enjoying the smiling faces and great conversations that are taking place around the tables in Tuscany and Little Italy (our dining rooms).

A variety of cuisines, both international and domestic, provides the basis of each multi-course, sit-down meal.  Our goal is to be able to feature a volunteer guest chef each month who can teach our MSH residents, volunteers, and staff how to prepare authentic foods of a particular nationality.  Over the past months our guest chefs have represented Greek, Korean, Italian, Mexican, German, and Southern US cuisines.  

Each month, we hear, “This is the best one so far.”  Does that mean we are getting better and better or simply that our guests are enjoying the tastes of other cultures?  You will have to be the judge.  Join us for Friday Night Out! Up next on April 7 is Greek cuisine with guest chef, Dave Vasilakes.  Our guests also seem to be enjoying getting to know each other as they experience community in our family-friendly facility.

Thrivent Financial Actions Teams has been helpful in providing seed money for the dinners which are also helpful fundraisers to keep our programming available to as many people as possible as at low cost as possible.  CWLC provides counseling, both chemical dependency and mental health, adult day services, anger management class, an after-school youth program, and more to residents of our area.  To learn more about all that is available to you through CWLC, visit our website at www.clearwaterslife.org or like us on Facebook to keep up-to-date on our latest news.
