March Elementary Students of the Month
“Education is the power to think clearly, the power to act well in the world’s work, and the power to appreciate life.” ~ Brigham Young
Student Name: Erik Preuss, Kindergarten
Parents: John and Alissa Preuss Siblings: James
Comments: Erik is the first student to arrive each day. He is always ready to work and do his best. I really admire his thirst for knowledge, he just can’t seem to get enough! I can always depend on him to follow directions quickly and lend a helping hand, without being asked to do so. His classmates voted for him to be our Student of the Month. They seem to appreciate his thoughtful and kind personality as much as I do! One student remarked, “I like Erik because he is nice.” Another said, “I like Erik because he always helps clean up, even if he didn’t make the mess!.” Congratulations Erik!
Student: Cylee Packineau, Grade 1
Parents: Tiffani Packineau (mother) and Cheryl Thunder (grandmother)
Comments: Cylee is a very quiet student in the classroom. She works hard at getting her work done quickly and very neatly. She is very creative. She has worked hard in reading and math this school year. Keep up the good work Cylee!
Student: Mickaylee Garrigan, Grade 2
Parents: Tiffani Packineau, Randy Garrigan
Comments: Mickaylee is a very hard worker who always tries to do her best at all times. She comes to school prepared with her homework completed and ready for the day. She always has a big smile on her face, and she is excited to learn as much as she can. I can also count on her to help other students if asked. Thanks Mickaylee for having such a positive attitude towards learning. Congratulations on being chosen student of the month!
Student: Logan Knutson, Grade 3
Parents: Crystal Maxie and Lennie Knutson
Comments: Logan is a steady hard worker. I’ve had the pleasure of watching him focus on a project and work diligently on it until it is done, and done well. Logan often gets a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face and it’s contagious. We all are blessed by his friendship. Thanks for all your help and your kindness. Keep up the good work!
Student: Derek Roy, Grade 4
Parents: Jenni Zurhorst, Craig Roy Siblings: Craig and Jesslyn
Comments: Derek is a very enthusiastic learner. He is always engaged and willing to participate and share his point of view. His eagerness and curiosity makes him a joy to have in class. Congratulations Derek! Derek is working so hard in our recorder unit--way to go, Derek!!!
Student: Keenan Smith, Grade 5
Parents: Jessie & Crystal Smith Siblings: Lawrence, Autumn, Jazmyn
Comments: Keenan is a very attentive listener! He is very polite in class and always seems wiser than most 5th graders! “Always has a positive attitude!” Keenan is a student that cares about other students and adults. He is a very insightful and caring student that tries his best. Keenan has a way of getting you to smile, even if it’s just by him smiling. Keenan likes to be helpful, right down to telling you to drink tea when you’re sick and offering to bring tea bags in when you have a cough. It is always a pleasure working with Keenan. He continues to be a hard working, honest, and knowledgeable student that demonstrates good character in and outside of the classroom. Thanks for being you, Keenan:)
Student:Kevin Sumner, Jr. Grade 6
Parents:Victoria Mostrom, Kevin Sumner Sr. Grandparents: Adrian Omen, Lisa Sumner Siblings: Sayden, Samiya
Comments: Kevin Sumner has been selected by his peers to be the next Student of the Month. Kevin is new to the district this year and has already made a good impression. Kevin is a good listener in music class! Kevin is a quiet, humble, behind-the-scenes sort of fella. If you look carefully, you will often notice him picking up after his peers or pushing in their chairs for them. He is a very polite and organized student. (One time, the “desk fairy” left him a note and treat for having the neatest desk in the classroom, but he gave it to someone else because he didn’t think he had deserved it, as he felt he could have been neater.) His peers describe him as kind, positive, unselfish, willing, funny, friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. C-G lucked out when they gained a student like Kevin. He is the type of student that we are proud to have represent our school.
