Huie named Assistant Coach of the Year

Red Lake County Assistant Boys’ Basketball Coach Randy Huie recently received a plaque for being selected Minnesota Class A State High School Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2016 winter sports season. He was nominated by RLC Head Coach Steve Philion. He was presented this award at the Sheraton Hotel in Minnetonka on October 8th at the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Awards Banquet. 

This is a great honor to be nominated and selected for the Minnesota Class A State High School Assistant Coach of the Year. Attending the award ceremony was Coach Philion and Huie’s brother Frank from Duluth. 

Huie is the Social Studies teacher at the Red Lake County Central High School in Oklee. Besides being an assistant boys’ basketball coach, he is also the head track coach for the RLC Track team. Congratulations Mr. Huie!
