Megan Hoyer has been hired as the new Clearbrook-Gonvick School Counselor.
She received her Bachelors in Psychology from MSUM-Moorhead and her Masters in Counseling and Student Affairs emphasis in school counseling from MSUM-Moorhead.
She worked at the Morris Area Elementary School as the school counselor for the 2015-2016 school year.
She was asked what made her decide to become a school counselor? She replied, “I used to work as a caregiver for individuals with disabilities. From this experience I found myself wanting to make an impact on a larger scale, which is how I ended up pursuing my masters degree for school counseling.”
Megan’s goal is to use American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Standards to support students with academic, career, and personal/social development.
When asked what do you hope to bring to Clearbrook-Gonvick and your students? “I hope to bring leadership, advocacy, and collaboration to Clearbrook-Gonvick School, as well as the community. These things will enable me to be a part of maximizing student success.”
Her personal interests include traveling, cake decorating, photography and crafts.
She is engaged to be married in October and she is living at Gully at the present time.
Welcome to the area.
