Services for Steven Alan Sundquist
Steven Alan Sundquist, 42, of Bagley, MN, died on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services will be held on Friday April 10th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Berner, MN with Pastor Kris Snyder officiating. A visitation will be on Thursday April 9th, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at United Lutheran Cemetery in Berner, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with the arrangements.
Steven was born on March 22nd, 1973 in Bagley, MN, the son of Lester and Jean (Johnson) Sundquist. He lived with his parents on the farm until he was 18 years old. He then moved to the Pine Ridge Residence in Bagley, where he was still living.
He attended the DAC in Bagley from an early age until the present time. He also was mainstreamed into the Bagley School District, where he graduated with the class of 1992. He also participated in the Special Olympics at the Regional and State levels for many years until declining health made it too difficult for him.
Steven enjoyed many things—a few being traveling to different states to visit his dad, stopping in motels, eating out, and especially the time he got to ride in Dad’s big semi-truck. He also liked family outings on the pontoon, catching fish, being at the farm, playing his tapes, looking at books, and most recently riding on the golf cart every week-end, weather permitting. Most of all, he just enjoyed being with the family whatever we were doing.
He is survived by his parents, Lester and Jean Sundquist of Clearbrook, MN; his brothers, Kevin (Tia) Sundquist of Hampshire, IL, Darren (Nancy) Sundquist of Gonvick, MN, and Craig Sundquist of Gonvick, MN; his sister, Lisa (Shane) Schroeder of Fairbault, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. He also leaves behind all of the residents and staff at Pine Ridge and participants and staff at the DAC.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kelly Sundquist; his grandparents; and uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Steve will always be remembered by his wonderful smile. With all that Steve had to endure in his life, when asked how he felt, he always said, “Good” and gave us a smile.
