Kailey donates to Locks of Love

Locks of Love was formed to help children with several conditions that cause hair loss, including alopecia, burn trauma, and cancer treatment. Many people have donated their hair for the company.

Kailey Klema of Gonvick had her hair donation with Bobbie Dyrdahl at The Hair Repair in Gonvick. Bobbie carefully measured out the 10 inches that are required for the cut. She then has to braid the hair and send it to West Palm Beach, Florida. 

There are certain guidelines for an acceptable donation.

•Hair that is colored or permed is acceptable.

•Hair that has been bleached (usually this refers to highlighted hair) is not usable. 

•They cannot accept dreadlocks. 

•Layered hair is acceptable if the longest layer is 10 inches. 

•Layered hair may be divided into multiple ponytails.

•Curly hair may be pulled straight to measure the minimum 10 inches.

•10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece.

After Kailey had her 10 inches cut off Bobbie then styled her hair the way she wanted it done.

Kailey is the daughter of Daphne and Billy Klema of Gonvick.
