40 Quilts blessed and donated

On Sunday, March 22, 40 quilts made by the loving hands of women from Zion and Salem Lutheran Churches were blessed during Sunday worship services.
Quilts were draped over the pews and alter railing and a special Quilt Blessing service was held, followed by the singing of “Bringing In The Quilts”, sung to the tune of Bringing in the Sheaves.
The quilts will be donated to a variety of organizations. The Salvation Army, Violence Intervention Project, Path Finders, Social Services, and the Rescue Mission.
The ladies working on the quilts this year were Liz Follmann, Joyce Hardecopf, Irene Rosten, Ione Nelson, Ardell Opdahl and Joyce Austad.
Later that day, an auction was held at the Oklee Hall.
