Red Lake County Central High School is proud to announce the graduation of the Class of 2016. Graduation will be held on Friday, May 27 at 7:30 pm in the RLCC High School gym. The 33 seniors who will be graduating are: Elsie Abrahamson*, Chase Agnes, Cade Bachand, Morgan Bushelle**, Marcus Christensen, Asia Davis**, Katheryne DeHate, Kyler Fluharty, Shelby Haugen**, Heaven Heard, Brandi Jensen, Seth Johnson*, Taylor Klasen-Gryskiewicz, Ben Kolling, Brendan Krueger, Devin Lambert**, Tristan Larson, Levi Linder, Miranda Magnell*, Austin May, Alan Nemec*, Kayla Olson**, Josef Paradis, Katie Pendelton, Nicole Riendeau, Tyler Sandahl, Samantha Smith**, Shawnee Styles, Michelle Sundquist**, Holly Vettleson**, Wyatt Waldal**, Austin Waliser**, and Kjersten Walton*. (** is High Honors Students with a 3.5-4.0 and * is Honor Students with a 3.0-3.49)
The top three ranked seniors of their class are Holly Vettleson, daughter of Alan and Chris Vettleson; Devin Lambert, son of Scott and Shannon Lambert; and Samantha Smith, daughter of Jon and Suzanne Smith. They each will be giving a speech at graduation.
Class of 2016’s class colors are royal blue, black, and purple. Class flower is the white chrysanthemum. The class motto is “We’re kind of a b16 deal.”
The Junior Honor Guards are Angel Auman and Ashley Longtin. The Usherettes from the junior class include Natalie Aakhus, Megan Berberich, Taylor Bushelle, and Kelsie Sirjord.
At the graduation ceremony, the presentation and the retiring of the colors will be by the Plummer American Legion Post #623. The processional “Pomp and Circumstance” by Edward Elgar and the recessional will be played on the piano by Peggy Miller. Introduction of the Program will be given by the Principal, Mr. Randall Pederson.
“Take These Wings” by Steve Kupferschmid and Don Besig will be sung by seniors Holly Vettleson, Kjersten Walton, Miranda Magnell, Shawnee Styles, Brandi Jensen, and Taylor Klasen. “Forever Young” as sung by Alphaville will be sung by members of the Senior Class. The presentation of flowers and class of 2016 video will follow. Presentation of the Class of 2016 will be done by the Principal Pederson and diplomas presented by the School Board Chairman Matt Kolstoe and Superintendent Mr. James Guetter.
