On Thursday March 31st Marshall County Social Services hosted their Annual Volunteer Recognition Party. Volunteers, County Commissioners and staff gathered in appreciation of the county volunteers. The theme was “We Are Lucky to Have You as a Volunteer!”
Marshall County Staff and County Commissioner, LeRoy Vonasek thanked the volunteers for the time and dedication they have given this past year in making services such as the Visiting Friend Program, Little Brother/Little Sister Program, Volunteer Driving Program and the Christmas Food Basket and Sharing Tree Projects possible. It was stressed that because of volunteers these programs are possible, and because of their caring and dedication so many in the county receive the help they need.
Entertainment for the Recognition Party was provided by two vocal ensemble groups from Warren Alvarado Oslo High School. The senior girls group sang “Memory” and the senior high boys group performed “Pompeii” under the direction of WAO choir instructor, Mona Schroeder. The students did a great job, and the entertainment was enjoyed by everyone.
Marshall County Social Services currently have volunteer opportunities available. If you would like to learn how you can help someone in need and make a difference by volunteering, please call Stacey Urbaniak at Marshall County Social Services at 218-745-5124.
