Poppy Poster Winners announced at Clearbrook-Gonvick School

Every year, the Gonvick and Clearbrook American Legion Auxiliaries take turns sponsoring the Poppy Poster contest for the 9th District American Legion. These special posters are made in the 4th and 5th grade classrooms under the supervision of their teachers. The teachers are given a specific set of rules for the contest. Darlene Sawyer of ther Gonvick Auxiliary was in charge of this year's poster contest.

The purpose of the posters is to encourage the young people to be aware of all the sacrifices that have been made throughout history by local and national soldiers who fought for our freedom. The poppy flower is the symbol of this.
