2016 Win-E-Mac School District Spelling Bee

The 2015 Win-E-Mac School District Spelling Bee was held at 8:30 on Wednesday, January 20th in the Arts & Events Center. Sixteen spellers--four each from fifth through eighth grades--were selected to compete. In the end, Kolton Crocker, a seventh grader, was the champion and will be going on to compete at the Regional Spelling Bee on February 10th at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls. Taking second place was Anton Hickman, a sixth grader, and tying for third place was Rylee Haugen, an eighth grader, and Lukiya Kutsev, a sixth grader. In all, 133 words were used, with the championship word being “vague”.
