Before school let out for the Christmas holiday, the Chargers hosted a double header against Lake of the Woods last Monday, December 21st, on the basketball court in Grygla. Both varsity boys and girls teams claimed the victory with the boys’ final score being 85-44 and the girls’ final score being 38-19.
Boy’s Basketball Head Coach Mike Gast said it was great to get the win. “We played pretty well and executed much better on our offense. It felt good to see everyone play,” he added.
Scoring: Dylan Walker 19, Blaine Kriel 16, Ben Groven 15, Ty Jelle 11, Tyler Stinar 10, Austin Brateng 9, Benji Wilebski 4, Jeremy Wiskow 1.

In regards to the varsity girl’s game, Head Coach Elroy Johnsrud commented, “We came out and pressured their guards. We did a good job at that and forced a few turnovers. They packed the paint on defense and dared us to shoot from the outside. We shot 47% from the field, so we did a pretty good job. We shot 33% from the free-throw line. That is something that I would like to see rise throughout the season.”
