Clearbrook Community Center Presents Calvin Hall

On Friday, October 2 at 7 pm, Clearbrook Community Center presents Calvin Hall. He will be presenting a slide show at no charge of his life. Everyone is welcome to hear more about Calvin Hall’s stories.

Here is his biography below. Calvin Hall grew up in Clearbrook Minnesota, a small town in the Northern part of the state, where he had great freedom to swim, fish, skate, hunt, ride snowmobile and motorcycle. He graduated from high school in 78’, college in 82’, then in June of 83’ drove a beater car to Alaska to start a new life there!

In his 43 years in AK, he traveled widely throughout the state, and since 1996, has been working as a full-time photographer. Clients include Nat Geo, IMAX, GOOGLE, Alaska Airline, Alaska Railroad along with many others. He is best known for the Northern Lights but shoots a bit of everything. He has shot about 180 weddings, which helps explain his gray hair! Calvin’s presentation will be largely the one he has presented on 27 cruises for Princess Cruise Lines over the past few years.

Calvin’s photo and video work captures a wide range of Alaska’s unique natural treasures, from bears, moose and wolves, to salmon, volcanoes, glaciers and whales, to swimming under the ice, to filming himself get bitten up by mosquitos, and staying up all night to capture what he is best known for, the Aurora Borealis. The Aurora will be the grand finale for his show. Calvin will give you a unique and humorous look at his photo adventures in Alaska.
