Jill Anderson Tharaldson receives Mary Magdalene Award
When the Northwestern Minnesota Synodical Women's Organization Convention met on September 18 and 19th in Crookston, Jill Anderson Tharaldson was honored with the Mary Magdalene Award. Jill is a member of Lund Lutheran Church in Gully. She was nominated by Dawn Hanson, Synod Authorized Minister.
The Mary Magdalene Award is a special recognition presented by synodical organizations within Women of the ELCA (WELCA) to honor women for their dedicated service, leadership, and witness to the gospel.
The purpose of the award is to recognize local women who emulated Mary Magdalene's role as the first witness to the resurrection-following Jesus's command to “go and serve”-and who show exceptional commitment to their church and community.
Jill's extraordinary service to Lund Lutheran Church includes leadership with the women's group, making it inclusive and supportive for all members. She is a driving force behind the annual Deer Hunter's Supper and also played a major role in the recent kitchen remodel. With Jill's support the long awaited kitchen renovation became a reality. When there is work to be done, she tackles it.
Jill is a “spark plug” at Lund and is very worthy of this special award.
