Clearwater County 4-H Llama Project

Clearwater County 4-H Llama Project

The llama project was well represented at this year’s Clearwater County Fair, with three 4-H youth participating: Grace Gunning, Faith Gunning and Sienna Flateland.

Throughout the fair, the youth had the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills through a variety of llama activities, including Llama Public Relations, Llama Showmanship, Obstacle Course and Costume classes. Each youth did an amazing job demonstrating their preparation, knowledge and confidence while working with their llamas.

Their hard work at the county level paid off, as all three youth earned trips to the Minnesota State Fair Llama Encampment. They went on to represent Clearwater County 4-H at the Minnesota State Fair, giving them an exciting opportunity to compete, learn and meet other youth involved in the llama project.

For Grace, Faith and Sienna, the Minnesota State Fair was a particularly special experience—it was the first time all three youth had attended the Minnesota State Fair. Their participation in the llama encampment allowed them to take their project experience to the next level while creating memories and gaining new skills along the way.

Clearwater County 4-H is proud of the accomplishments of these three young llama exhibitors and their dedication to learning and growing through their 4-H projects. Their success is a great example of how 4-H provides youth with opportunities to develop knowledge, confidence, responsibility and lifelong skills through hands-on experiences.
