Many Attended the Gully Hunters Supper Event on Opening Saturday in Gully

People of all ages came dressed in blaze orange to the Gully Town Hall on the Saturday night of opening deer season. They gathered for the annual Gully Hunters Supper Event, hosted as a fundraiser by Lund Lutheran Church, which is anticipated as an enjoyable homecoming and visiting gathering for area hunters, extended families, friends and neighbors.  Good weather, good food and good conversation amidst a sea of blaze orange made for a festive evening.     

The supper, a full meal fit for hungry hunters is hosted by the Lund Lutheran Church of Gully.  In addition to a hearty meal, there were some fun shopping opportunities at the Fall Harvest and Handiworks Market fundraiser for the Lund Ladies Aid.   Hand-crocheted blaze orange pot scrubbies for deer camp; a fancy fall feather wreath for Thanksgiving and a lot more interesting stuff was added to the selection of local honey and prized jellies, syrups and various baked goods.   Several silent auction items were offered at both the Ladies Aid Market and by the Gully-Trail Parish Youth Group.  Alice Forsberg and Wanda Rydeen brought a beautifully sewn north country  piece quilt for the Youth Group silent auction.   

As part of the Hunters Supper Event each year, the Gully–Trail Parish Youth Group holds their really popular “Gift Basket Raffle”.  Hundreds of donated items are put together into many delightful themed and attractively assembled gift baskets.   People of all ages and interests enjoy this activity each year.  One-dollar tickets are dropped next to one or more baskets of choice and the lucky winners are drawn.   

The meal, a deer season opener tradition, is served from 5 to 8 pm on the first Saturday of Deer Season right along Main Street in Gully each year.  It is a “come as you are” event.
