To the woods

On Friday, October 26th, Mr. Loberg’s 8th grade Geography class traveled to the Goodridge School Forest, which is 4 miles north of Fourtown in Beltrami Island State Forest. 8th graders met with Mike Nooker from the Grygla and Wannaska Forestry Station. Mike took the students on a tour of the Goodridge School Forest, which is 40 acres of mixed hardwoods, conifers and wetland.
In the afternoon, the students traveled to Norris Camp and met with Red Lake WMA Manager Gretchen Mehmel. They were given a tour of the historic CCC buildings and were also given a tutorial on safety in the woods by Jeff Birchem.
