On Tuesday, July 14, the Centennial Committee met to continue planning

(Members present: Gavin Nordby, Lindsay Oslund, Gretchen Smeby. Absent: Bob Thompson. Others present: Marie Konickson, Joni Anderson, Donna Lian, Rose Hanson & Kari Sundberg.)
The group discussed the ongoing gun raffle, with the drawing to be held on August 30th at Yo-Hawn’s. Tickets are still available at local businesses or by contacting someone from the committee. Discussion was also held regarding possible future fundraisers. Some of which included: pancake breakfast, fun run, 3D archery shoot, “Chair”ity Auction, donkey basketball, centennial quilt raffle and bringing back Santa Day, along with a craft show. The group also discussed holding a fundraiser this fall, which would also require community and local business involvement.
The committee briefly discussed the Centennial Gun, which will be raffled off at a later date (drawn during the centennial). The gun will be gold plated, and engraved with various images representing the community. Artwork was recently approved, with the gun estimated to be ready later this fall.
Sub-committees will need to be developed, with more volunteers needed to serve on the committee. Some ideas to start with include all school reunion/alumni, beautification, fundraising, history & entertainment. Joni Anderson volunteered to start working on alumni, Joy Nordby will head the history book, but is needing volunteers to help get her information, Gavin Nordby will work on music, and Donna Lian volunteered to work on a Centennial Quilt. Volunteers for any or all of these committees are needed and welcome.
The centennial committee will be putting suggestion boxes around town to get ideas from people who might not be able to attend meetings or are uncomfortable voicing their opinions. With your suggestions, please include if you would be willing to help out.
A time capsule is located in the bank to be opened during the centennial, if people know more about this, please let a committee member know. We will look into doing a ceremony to open it and reveal the contents.
The next meeting will be held on August 16th at 5:00 pm.  All are encouraged and welcome to attend; we will need all the help we can get to make this a successful centennial celebration.
