Senator Rod Skoe Receives Farm Bureau Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award

Senator Rod Skoe was awarded the Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award at the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation’s (MFBF) 99th Annual Meeting. Recognition was given during the Friday night awards banquet on November 17 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bloomington. This is the most prestigious award given by the Federation.

Senator Skoe served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1999-2003 and the Minnesota Senate from 2003-2017 representing the largest district in the state. Senator Skoe’s leadership placed him on various key committees important to agriculture and rural Minnesota, thus supporting many state Farm Bureau legislative priorities. Just a few of the major agricultural issues that Senator Skoe supported and worked with Farm Bureau on include: bovine tuberculosis, wolf depredation, water quality, and agricultural land property taxes.

Relating to agricultural issues has come easy for Senator Skoe, as he is an active potato and wild rice farmer with his family in Clearwater County. He is a graduate of Augsburg College.
