RLCC Triple A recipients

RLCC High School seniors Holly Vettleson and Seth Johnson were selected to represent Red Lake County Central High School in the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award program, RLCC’s High School Principal Randy Pederson announced February 2, 2016.
Established in 1988 the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award or Triple A is sponsored by Minnesota State High School League and goes to high school seniors who have a B or better average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.
Vettleson, daughter of Alan and Chris Vettleson, currently has a 3.942 GPA. Along with high school classes she currently takes three online classes: World History 1500-Present, World Music, Concepts of Biology, and Statistics. She also participates in the Minnesota Association of Honor Societies and holds the office of secretary. Vettleson is in music including both choir and band for six years and vocal contest for four years receiving a superior this year. For athletics Vettleson has played volleyball and basketball for six years and was in track and field for seventh and eighth grades.  Vettleson was involved in SADDs from seventh grade to eleventh grade. 
She really enjoys vocal solo and ensemble contests. She also enjoys her two sports, basketball and volleyball, and enjoyed hanging out with her teammates. Vettleson’s favorite class is any online course. Her future plans are to graduate from Northland with a two-year degree in May and attend Minnesota State University Moorhead to be a paralegal.
Seth Johnson, son of Jeff and Pam Johnson, currently has a 3.6 GPA. He currently takes Biology, and Print Reading/Maintenance Awareness online courses along with high school classes. He is a member of Minnesota Association of Honor Societies. Johnson has been in band for eight years, grades five-twelve. He was in football for eight years, too.
 Johnson enjoys playing his trumpet and football. He said participating in football taught him how to have good sportsmanship and respect. Johnson’s favorite online class is World History 1500-Present. His future plans are to go to North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND for Diesel Technology.
Vettleson and Johnson along with other Triple A recipients from area schools were recognized Wednesday, February 10 at the Region 8 Triple A Banquet in Mahnomen.
