RLCC Trap Team Goes to State

The Red Lake County Central (RLCC) High School Trap Team recently competed at the Minnesota High School League Clay Target State Championship in Prior Lake on June 25th. The top thirty-eight teams out of the 292 high school trap teams from across Minnesota were invited to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Championships at Prior Lake. The shooting conditions were beautiful with warm temperatures and a clear sky with a light breeze. The athletes had a great day of shooting against the best and most competitive teams in the state.  Each member of the five person squad shoots at 100 clay targets for a total of 500 targets. They get one point for each target broken. The RLCC team broke 436 out of 500 targets and placed 28th out of the 38 teams.  The team’s charter season was last spring and they have shown steady improvement. To go to the state championships in their second year was an outstanding accomplishment.  The seven athletes who were part of the Championship team were Marcus Christensen, Cade Bachand, Seth Paradis, Adam Cater, Josef Paradis, Ethan Vettleson, and Nick Lill.  Congratulations to the RLCC Trap Team on a fine end to a great season!
