RLCC students receive Excellent Ratings at Vocal Ensemble Contest

The Vocal Ensemble Contest was held in East Grand Forks on Wednesday, March 22. There were six participants from Red Lake County Central. The seniors that attended were Natalie Aakhus, Tera Qualley, and Dede Walton. Also participating was Junior Kara Longtin and Freshmen Brandie DeHate and Sidney Olson.
All three Ensembles received the same score of 31 for an Excellent rating. Dede Walton and Tera Qualley were singing a traditional folk song called “Ahreerang.” Kara Longtin and Brandie DeHate sang “In His Eyes” from Jekyll and Hyde. Natalie Aakhus and Sidney Olson sang “A Whole New World” from Aladdin.
The Red Lake County Central choir director Mrs. Patty Mickelson has been working with these singers to get them ready for the contest.
