RLC Competes in Section 8A Speech Tournament

Section 8A Speech Tournament was held Tuesday, April 5th at Fosston. The Rebels speech team took eight entries to the competition with four entries making it into the final round. Rebels Coach Judy Schue commented, “The most entries we have placed in the final round for many years.”
Rebels who placed in the finals were Jayden Fore in Creative Expression with seventh place, Kara Longtin and Tom Nelson in Duo with seventh place, Lilly Guillemette in Poetry with sixth place, and Jayden Iverson in Poetry with seventh place. Those who competed but did not make it into the finals were Natalie Aakhus in Drama, Shelby Gunderson in Great Speeches, Jade Person in Humor, and Zoe Russillo and Phillip Sorenson in Duo.
Coaches of the speech team are Judy Schue, Bobbi Aakhus, and Jessie Hamrum.
Coach Schue was selected by fellow coaches as Subsection 31A Coach of the Year and was then honored by the coaches of Section 8A as Section Coach of the Year. Schue also announced that she will retire from the head coaching position for the RLC Rebels
