Rep. Bidal Duran Announces Re-Election Campaign for Minnesota House
BEMIDJI — State Representative Bidal Duran (R-Bemidji) announced today that he is seeking re-election to the Minnesota House of Representatives, reaffirming his commitment to serving the entire community and focusing on solutions that deliver real results for northern Minnesota.
Duran, a combat veteran and former law enforcement officer, said his decision to run again is driven by a belief that a state representative should be accessible, dependable, and focused on helping constituents navigate challenges that require attention at the Capitol.
“My goal has always been to be a representative everyone in our community can rely on,” Duran said. “When families, workers, or local leaders face issues that need to be addressed in St. Paul, they should know they have someone who will listen, take them seriously, and work to get results.”
Duran emphasized that effective representation means working with people across the political spectrum and staying focused on outcomes rather than partisan conflict.
“I’m committed to working with anyone who shares the goal of strengthening our communities, regardless of political differences,” Duran said. “Serving people comes first. Political drama doesn’t fix problems.”
During his time in the Legislature, Duran has focused on public safety, veterans and military affairs, fiscal responsibility, and protecting local control. He has opposed unfunded mandates and unsustainable spending while advocating for policies that reflect the needs of rural and northern Minnesota.
Education has also been a key priority. Duran said he remains committed to working closely with educators, teachers, and school board members to improve Minnesota’s schools in ways that support both students and faculty.
“The people closest to the classroom understand what’s working and what isn’t,” Duran said. “I will continue working with educators and local school leaders to pursue practical improvements that help students succeed and support the professionals who serve them every day.”
As he campaigns for another term, Duran said he will continue meeting with constituents across the district and approaching the job with a focus on service, accountability, and results.
“You don’t have to agree on everything to make progress,” Duran said. “I’m ready to work with anyone who is serious about solving problems and delivering results for the people of our district.”
Representative Bidal Duran currently represents parts of Beltrami County, Clearwater County, and Lake of the Woods County in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
