Red Lake County Central Commencement Program held on May 26th

The Red Lake County Central High School had their Commencement Program on Friday, May 26th.  The Oklee American Legion Post #159 did the Presentation of the Colors.  “Pomp and Circumstance” was played by Peggy Miller.  Mr. James Guetter introduced the Program.
Mary Auman made her address. Auman commented that when she came to this school she didn’t know how it was going to be, but then the community was very welcoming. Auman also said that she wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her father.
After Auman’s address a group of seniors sang “7 years” as sung by Lukas Graham, which included Megan Berberich, Makay Berns, Ashley Longtin, Taylor Bushelle, Kelsie Sirjord, and Nicole Schmitz. Ashley Longtin then made her address.  Longtin said her father told her that you always have a choice, bad ones or good ones.
Following her address a senior group sang “How Far I’ll Go”, as sung by Alessia Cara, those seniors were Tera Qualley, Deidra Walton, Natalie Aakhus, Carolyn Kehn, Lynsey Morris, and Mary Auman.
Taylor Bushelle then made her address.  Bushelle talked about how the Class of 2017 was very close and how it is going to be different to not see them as often as they do now.  All the seniors then sang “Good Riddance”, as sung by Green Day.
After the senior class sang they presented their flowers to their families.  A video was made of the Class of 2017 which consisted of photos and memories of the class. Mr. Randall Pederson with the help from Mr. Matt Kolstoe presented the diplomas to the class.  The Oklee American Legion Post then did the Retiring of the Colors.
