Specialist Brandi Malwitz of the MN National Guard was the guest speaker at Memorial Day Services in Plummer. Malwitz is a medic stationed in Brainerd, MN. She is the daughter of Kevin & Gloria Malwitz. Specialist Malwitz said she gets choked up on Memorial Day. It’s not just a day off from work, but a day to honor our loved ones who served our country. As a medic my job is to see that your loved ones come home, she stated. A cool, cloudy Memorial Day had all ages bundling up as they attended the Memorial Day Services at the Veterans Park in Plummer. In honor of those who died at sea, a wreath is tossed into the river as part of the Memorial Day Services in Plummer. After concluding Plummer Memorial Day services in the park, the Honor Guard regrouped at the river on the Creamery Bridge to pay tribute to those who died at sea.
