Oklee/Plummer gets hit with approximately 4 inches of Rain

August 3rd was a hot sticky day if it wasn’t for the breeze that kept everyone cool. A perfect day for a thunderstorm. North Dakota was getting storms and tornado warnings and watches into the evening, and a couple of tornado’s were sighted across the Red River. As evening came and night set in the Oklee/Plummer/Brooks area, the thunderstorms started about 11:00 p.m. and rain fall levels range from 3 inches up to 4.8 inches overnight.

In Oklee a number of people had readings of 4.25 inches of rain. Thursday morning the ground was saturated, the ditches full and the Lost River had come up quite high with all the water coming in from the ditch systems. 

No reports of damage have been received by the Oklee Herald. 

Thursday has been quite a bit cooler, with temperatures in the 70’s. In fact according to Wunderground.com, the temperatures will stay in the high 70’s and low 80’s for the rest of the week up to August 13th with some showers starting on Tuesday to Saturday.
