Northern AdvantEdge Career Expo

Red Lake County Central High School sophomores were invited to participate at the Northern AdvantEdge Career Expo in Bemidji. The students traveled November 9th, 2016 to the Sanford Center and were accompanied by Trio Advisor Alexandria Erbeck and paraprofessional Kristi Olson.
The day started off with an orientation for all students giving each student a lanyard and explaining where the sessions would be held. Each student was allowed to pick several areas of interest and attended two breakout sessions in their interests.
There were 16 high schools that attended this career expo. There were 12 Business Exhibitors and some included: Digi Key, Marvin Windows and Doors, Polaris, and Sanford Health. Nine Post-Secondary School exhibited and some included: Northland Community Technical College, University of Minnesota Crookston, and Bemidji State University. There were four Agency Exhibitors and some included: Bemidji Police Department, and the Minnesota Transportation Center of Excellence.
It was interesting to find information about specific colleges and careers as well as all the items they gave out to the students such as, pens, stickers, paper information, and etc.
