A Night to Share: Joint Testimonials

American Legion Irvin Blix Post 16-Bagley  was well represented at the District level for the year 2025-2026.  District Commander Dennis Henkemeyer and District Auxiliary President Denise Milton are both members of the Bagley American Legion and are married couple. Denise and Dennis are dual members; American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary(both are military veteran and the spouse of a veteran).  Dennis also qualifies for the Sons of the American Legion, however each person may only belong to two groups.  

On April 29th the pair held a joint District 9 Testimonial Dinner at the Bagley American Legion. These dinners are a “time-honored American Legion tradition used to salute outgoing leaders, commanders and community members for their service and sacrifice”(Google).  Though their year isn’t quite over, they both shared about their year in service at the District level. 

Dennis served in the Navy, and Denise served in the Army. They are deeply committed to serving our local veterans and their families.  

The dinner included Roast Pork w/ Mushroom Sauce, Egg Spaetzle, Green Beans, Cucumber Salad, Bread Basket and Dessert Cart.  Guests from all over the District 9 area as well as others joined in the festivities.  The 9th District Band provided the entertainment.
