New RLCC Basketball Shooting Machine

The Red Lake County Central girls’ basketball and Red Lake County boys’ basketball teams have available a new shooting machine which was acquired in early May. The shooting machine will be used during the summer and during the school year by both the girls and boys teams.
The shooting machine has many unique aspects including virtual coaching apps. This allows players to track their progress on their phone and have it visible to their coaches. Another feature is post-passer, that moves the machine around and passes the ball back to the shooter in multiple different positions. These machine also have options for a speaker system, makes-in-a-row tracker, and a heart rate tracker.
Many high schools, colleges, and NBA teams use this machine including the Golden State Warriors! The owner and creator of the Shoot-A-Way is John Joseph. His invention is being used all over the country by coaches to help improve the skills of the players on their teams. When Joseph first invented the Shoot-A-Way it was a collection of unique net and wire systems that returned the ball to players and helped them to increase their shooting by 10 percent!
Today, the Shoot-A-Way is mostly electronic and the new “Gun” model, which is being used by the RLCC and RLC basketball teams, shoots out the ball to specific locations. Currently, over 10,000 Shoot-A-Ways have been sold in the U.S. Joseph’s goal for the Shoot-A-Way is that kids will work harder and get better faster!
The RLCC Mustang basketball team and RLC Rebel basketball team are excited to use the machine and grateful to all of the groups and individuals who donated.
