New faces at the Grygla School

Tausha Severts is enjoying her new role at the Grygla School as the Elementary Special Education and Title I teacher. For the last 7 years, Tausha owned and operated a home daycare while taking online classes through Grand Canyon University. After earning her degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, Tausha is now working full-time at the Grygla School.
Of her new position, she says, “I’m a Grygla lifer! I love working with kids and I also love the school atmosphere!” She has set a few goals for her first year, which include helping her students meet their goals while making the environment fun and a great place to learn.
Tausha and her husband, Mark, live in rural Grygla and have four children: Addison is 8, Brianna is 4, Harper is 2 and Noah is 1.
When asked to pick five words that describer her, she named: caring, humorous, approachable, sensitive and positive. If she could trade places with anybody, Tausha laughed and said, “I’d trade places with my husband just so I can see what a cake life he has being married to me!”
When she isn’t at school, Tausha enjoys spending time with family and being outdoors. They like to camp, fish and take drives in her 1964 VW Beetle.
Alissa Hruby just started her second year at the Grygla School as the new Social Worker. She was previously working in children’s services for over 4 years with Pennington County Human Services. Always wanting to work in a school setting, Alissa’s job is close to home, too. Alissa and her husband, Tim, reside near Goodridge. They have one little boy, Abel, who is almost 2 years old.
Alissa earned her AAS degree from Northland Community & Technical College, then went on to earn her degree in Social Work from Bemidji State University. She says her job at the Grygla School is a great fit for her and her future. When working with the kids, she wants to help them with their social and emotional well-being, and enhance that to help make their education a better experience.
Alissa was asked to pick five words to describe her; she said: friendly, caring, optimistic, shy and honest. If she could trade places with anybody, she says she’d pick her son so she could know what goes through his little mind!
Alissa is at the Grygla School Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays all day.
