The 28th Annual Gonvick Lions Rodeo was held on Friday and Saturday, July 13 and 14. Before the rodeo began the riders, flag bearers and audience took a moment for prayer and the National Anthem.

Gonvick Lions Club president Kim Solberg gave a medal to all the young riders.

The Gonvick Lions Club was formed in 1975 and this is the first year that there has been a woman as president. Kim Solberg was elected this year along with three other women officers of the club. Riding in the Gonvick Lions Club Rodeo parade with Kim is Treasurer Crystal Smith, and seated is Vice-President Lucie Thompson with Secretary Corrine Richards driving a 2002 Ford Thunderbird.

What would the Gonvick Lions Rodeo parade be without the help of the announcer for the event. On the right is Gary Quern who reads the information that Stacy Halverson, Gonvick City Clerk (seated) has compiled for the event. Also seated is another helper, Gonvick Lions member Dan Sundquist.

Residents of Clearwater Day Activity Center and Pine Ridge Residence were on a float at the Gonvick Lions Rodeo Parade that was held on Saturday, July 14.

On Friday and Saturday, July 13 and 14, the Gonvick Lions held its 28th annual rodeo put on by Wojo's Rodeo. The weather was warm, but made for a successful two day event. On Saturday afternoon a crowd of people lined the streets to watch the Gonvick Lions parade. Thanks to all who participated in the parade and the rodeo. We look forward to next year!
