Last Thursday, July 16th, the Grygla Senior Citizens, along with the Grygla Eagle, headed to Warroad for an enjoyable afternoon and evening. The group did some shopping in the afternoon and then went out for supper at the Daisy Garden, an oriental restaurant in Warroad. Following supper, the crew headed over to the Warroad High School for their summer theater performance of ‘The Music Man’.
The musical was fantastic with a huge variety of local talent. Confident man, Harold Hill, arrives at staid River City, intending to cheat the community with his scam of offering to equip and train a boys’ marching band, then skip town with the money since he has no musical skill anyway. Things go awry when he falls in love with a librarian, who he tries to divert from exposing him while he inadvertently enriches the town with a love of music.
The play started at 7:30pm and lasted until 10pm. Colette Brobst was the bus driver for the group. Attendees included: Colette Brobst, Thelma Thomas, Carol Steuck, Eunice Schulz, Judy Irlbeck, Dennis Sundberg, Donna Lian, Wally and Karol Byklum, Delores Saul, Kari Sundberg and Trystan Jelle.
The Grygla Senior Citizen’s group plans to attend Jasper’s Theater in Park Rapids, MN, on Thursday, July 30th.
