Linda Kaul receives NWMN Synodical award
The NWMN Synodical Women of the ELCA held its convention at Trinity Lutheran in Crookston September 18th. and 19th. There were seven women from Faith Lutheran Church that attended.
One of the highest honors a member can receive is the Mary Magdalene award which is given to women that do as Jesus told Mary Magdalene “GO TO MY BROTHERS AND TELL THEM.” The women selected really exemplify the call to go and tell and serve. We were honored to have Linda Kaul receive this award for her dedication to FLC with her participation and leadership. The following is the submitted bio that was read as she received her award and a rose.
Linda Kaul is the Co-coordinator of Faith Lutheran WELCA. She has been a member for about forty years starting as a new bride. She was gainfully employed but has always made time for Faith and all its activities.
Linda served as treasurer for WELCA for several years until the church went with electronic bookkeeping. Linda still works as the financial expert for the WELCA Fall Festival and the Ode to Spring event. She arranges for members pre-selling tickets; keeping very detailed logs and managing the registration table for these events. She uses her financial gifts to also be one of the counters for the church offerings.
Linda is very organized and keeps a detailed calendar. She regularly keeps all of us informed of all upcoming events by phone, email, Sunday bulletin, and monthly newsletters.
She is very good at orchestrating speakers for WELCA for the season. Mission Day is one very important event she is involved in, by selecting and preparing kits for LWR and local projects.
In addition to all the support she gives to our WELCA, she has been past Sunday School Supervenient, making sure we utilize the Gather magazine during our circle meetings, and attends a co-ed Bible Study. She is the first to volunteer to help with funeral lunches, coffee hour, and our Community Christmas Day dinner that has been held for twenty-five years.
Linda is a real blessing to Faith Lutheran as she eagerly follows the Mary Magdalene motto of “GO and TELL.”
$25 will be donated in Linda’s honor to Lutheran World Relief.
