Aaron Christiansen at the fuel stop in Gonvick on the last day of the Christian Brothers Automotive Group I-500 race. He was the first one to arrive and he was the over all winner of the race on his Polaris. His time for the three day race, the Pro Factory 600 class, was 7:15:31.604. Jon Bakke had his drone flying over the I-500 fuel stop in Gonvick. The Christian Brothers Automotive Group I-500 race was the stop for the last day of racing on Saturday, February 10. The race did a couple of loops around Thief River Falls as there was not enough snow near Winnipeg to start the race. Originally the race ran from Winnipeg to St. Paul in 1966. This year it ended in Bemidji where the awards ceremony was held. See more photos in the Tri County Canary this week.

The I-500 race had a fuel stop in Gonvick on Saturday, February 11. He informed them that they were to let the racers fill their own tanks and other safety precautions.

The 2018 Christian Brothers Automotive Group I-500 Race from Thief River Falls to Bemidji was held Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 8-10.

Due to the lack of snow from Winnipeg to the border, Day 1 and 2, Feb. 8 and 9, started and ended at the Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls. The route was 195 miles of ditch, river and trail with 2 fuel stops in Goodridge, MN. On day 3, Feb. 10 the 125 mile route started at Seven Clans and ended in Bemidji Country Inn and Suites/Sanford Center with one fuel stop in Gonvick.
