Homecoming at GHS

It’s Homecoming Week in Grygla and Goodridge! Coronation was held at both schools on Monday; watch for photos in next week’s Eagle. 

The theme for Grygla’s Homecoming is ‘Can you feel the love tonight’. Senior Royal Candidates for Grygla are: Maddy Bakken, Shantel Verbout, Samantha Kraulik, Austin Brateng, Jordan Hagen and Ty Jelle. Junior Candidates are Alison Satre and Tanner Anderson. Sophomore Candidates are Brooke Limesand and Antony Yip. First Grade Attendants are Autumn Osse and Wade Tornow.

The Goodridge Homecoming Court is as follows: Senior Candidates: Mariah Coan, Marisa Newton, Daylyn Kainz, Heather Glenn, Brandon Kostrewski, Benji Wilebski, Jordey Marquis, Marcus Alderete and Caleb Olson. Junior Candidates are Ashlyn Henrickson and Blaine Kriel. Sophomore Candidates are Blake Nerhus and Keanna Arndt. First Grade Attendants are Mylee Sjulestad and Luke Paulson.

The 2015 Homecoming Volleyball game is on the calendar for Tuesday, September 15th,  where the Chargers will host Clearbrook/Gonvick in Grygla. Friday the 18th will be the Homecoming football game in Goodridge vs. WAO with a tailgate fundraiser starting at 5:30pm. For just $5, you get a hotdog, chips, bar and a bottle of water. All proceeds will be going to Michelle Prestebak.

And what would Homecoming week be without the dress-up days? In Grygla, Monday was ‘Beach Day’, Tuesday was ‘Team Color Day’, Wednesday is ‘Camo Day’, Thursday is ‘Super Hero Day’ and Friday will be ‘Spirit Day’.

Students in Grygla have set up different activities to be held throughout the week. On Monday after coronation, a family movie night was held on the football field. In addition to door decorating and team games, a pep fest will be held for the students this coming Friday. To cap off the eventful week, following the football game, a dance will be held for Grygla and Goodridge High School students at the Goodridge School from 9pm-midnight.
