Grygla High Mileage Competition

Here are some photos from the Grygla students that attended the High School Supermileage Challenge at the Brainerd International Raceway May 13-14th! The High Mileage advisor is Gabe Rath. This year, six students went to Brainerd to compete in the Supermileage Challenge. The drivers were Peyton Verbout and Jaden Kiesow. The pit crew and builders of the cars were Ethan Englund, Keyton Klein, Josh Johnson and Evan Fish. Rath said the crew builds one new car every year and makes changes to the previous year’s car to run it for a second year. Rath said, “This year we struggled to make runs with breakdowns and getting through tech inspection. We did make some runs with both cars, with our best run getting a 169.08 mpg with the new car, and 152.59 mpg with last years car.” He added, “We didn’t win any awards with the winner getting a mpg of 648.57 mpg out of the 25 cars in the stock class that we run in.” Photos courtesy of Grygla School
