Grygla City Council approves August Minutes

The regular meeting of the Grygla City Council was held on Monday, September 14th, at 7pm. The agenda included the approval of the August 10th meeting minutes, which are included below for your reference. Official minutes are taken by Rose Aune, City Clerk, and recapped by Eagle editor. The August Council meeting was held on the 10th with the following council members present: Mayor Richard Mosher, Gavin Nordby, Lindsay Oslund and Robert Thompson. Absent was Dave Dunrud. Also present was Rose Aune and Lyle Nelson.
The following agenda items were approved at the start of the meeting: previous month’s minutes, receipts & disbursements and payment of all bills presented on the claims list.
Other items included:
Trees: Rocky still needs to get together with Lisa & Jim to figure out what trees to get planted on the west side of Klein Addition for next year.
Water Tower Inspection: The council looked over the Water Tower inspection report & letter on repairs. They are hoping to have this worked on in 2017 before the Centennial, and when Maguire Iron will be back to do the inspection again.
Workers: Jake is done working for the summer. Lindsay Oslund is going to check with the FF committee to see what they want to do with the clean up crew for Fall Fest. There’s a chance that the Peer Helpers or Student Council might need some Community Service hours to fill.
Community Center: REA Roundup Grant deadline is Aug 31st, Grove is working on application.
Airport: Nothing new to report on electrical hookups. There will be a new sign put up during Fall Fest at the airport in memory of Jim & Gloria Holte.
Work Contracts: Rocky and Rose get a $.35 increase to wages, retroactive to July 1, 2015.
Veteran’s Memorial Lot: Rose is to get an agreement made up for the Veterans and the City Council to have two members from each group be the contact people for events to happen at the gazebo. Before the Veterans do any changes to the lot they are to come to the council for approval, since the lot is in the City’s name now.
Rocky will be putting some garbage cans up around town and at the gazebo.
Lots East of Water Tower: Lots 1-4 in Adkin’s 2nd Addition offered to Farmer’s Union for $12,000.
Street Funds: There were some extra street funds from the state this year. Grygla will be getting $9,690 for this year that will be able to be used on the Sidewalk Project and for other street repairs.
Evelyn Ave. Street Repairs: Council approved to pay for the repairs to Evelyn Ave. at this time.
Fall Fest Liquor License:  Liquor license for the Jaycee’s was approved for Fall Fest.
Sand Volleyball: Mosher is going to talk to Rick Neuschwander to see if he would be willing to give up 150’x150’ section of the land that he is leasing north of the softball field. A sand volleyball pit will be going in and used first at the Fall Festival.
